Well, it's beautiful, isn't it? And quiet, too.
Had a wonderful day lounging by the beach at Hibou Conservation Area. We drove up the check out Owen Sound and came across this place doing some research online. Really glad that we checked it out. Very clean and quite. We brought our dogs, kept them on leash just like a few other people who did the same. Had wonderful conversations with a few locals who frequent the beach.
Lovely place with a beautiful beach for kids. Beach was too dirty though full of water weeds and grass clippings at the water's edge.
Great beach, picnic areas, places to sit quietly and stare all the way down Owen Sound Bay. Lots of wildlife with at least two bald eagles and one golden in the area. Tons of derr. Painter turtles and the odd snapping turtle. Lots of hiking trails. Washrooms open during July/August.
Perfect spot on. Hot day. Washrooms close at 6 so beware.
